On Saturday we went to San Diego to tour the USS Midway, the longest serving aircraft carrier in America-from the end of WWII to 1991. There was so much to see and do. The kids really liked it. The carrier is 1,001 ft long, 258 ft wide, has a 4.02 acre flight deck, and is 69000 tons total weight.
I was feeling claustrophobic in the sleeping quarters. There were so many beds in such a small space!!
This veteran helped the kids make a knot bracelet.
We definitely need this at home :o)
On the flight deck!
The boys loved pushing all the buttons!!
I don't know if anyone else ever has these experiences but we have them often on vacation. The first picture was taken by a "baby boomer" and the second by a younger guy! Please, when you take a picture get the background in it!! And this was after we asked him to get the plane in it....

Very cool!!
apparently the people who take your picture can't stand to zoom out because you are just a group of good-looking people!
Glad you got to go. Looks fun. Keith spent New Year's Eve on the USS Midway a few years ago.
We didn't have time to go on the tour last time so it will an activity for our next San Diego trip.
Such fun educational experiences you guys have!
I just tagged you Val.....You're it!
